Which one of these is the best for neutrient export?

Chaeto is your best bet. It is fast growing if you give it what it needs and exports nutrients if you harvest it regularly.

Mangroves, although gorgeous, are not as effective as chaeto or caulerpa for this purpose... they grow too slow.

So xcreonx what does Cheato need I have tryed sevral times & it crumbles & breaks down in my sump and does not grow ?

I've had success with my chaeto like this:

- 24/7 lighting with a screw-in pc bulb from home depot.
- Moderate flow in sump, at least enough to tumble the ball of chaeto.
- Heavy feeding in display (this worked for my tank, as my livestock required it)
- Regular pruning and pulling apart of chaeto.

has worked well for me.
