I am looking for an air pump that I can use to pump fresh air into my tank. All I can find are ones that suck air directly from the pump. I need one that has a hose to run outside.

Any Ideas where to locate one?

Thanks

the CO2 that high in your home? Open a window and get some plants! ;)

All the ones i know of are intermittent use only, you could try putting your pump in a NEMA-4x box outside.

just run the airline for your skimmer outside. But I doubt that the co2 in your home is bad enough to effect low ph in your tank.

I did the air bubbler test out side and my PH went up .3
The tank is in a closed/sealed up basement. Don't want to open the window cuase it is HOT out.
I would have to run the air intakes for my skimmer about 30-40 feet, I am afraid it will effet the performance.

an aqualifter pump can be used to pump air, and you can hook a hose up to it. they are only 12 bucks, a great deal.

This time of year with the house closed up excessive CO2 will definitly lower pH in most tanks. Bringing in fresh air will raise pH in a tank if CO2 is the problem.

Heck, even when I turn my gas stove on to cook, my pH drops a point or two.

I just ran my skimmer hose outside, right at 30' and "so far" the performance as not changed significantly enough to notice. I did run 1/4 inch ID hose. I'm hoping it will help. I notice vey big swings in the PH with windows opened and closed. We'll see if this little mod helps.

yea just use larger id hose for the skimmer and it will not effect the incoming air at all. Just make sure you put a filter on the air line. I just took an old flake food can poked a bunch of holes in the bottom and filled it with floss and carbon. works great
