Hey guys,

Anyone know if Acrylic Cement is reef safe? I'm turning an old acrylic tank into a RR tank and was going to attach the overflows to the tank with acryilic cement. I've heard it was ok to do, but figured I'd post here and see if anyone has any negative history with this stuff?

Thanx! :D

The acrylic cement that most people use is not a cement, but a solvent that disolves the acrylic, and then it evaporates away. So after you glue in the overflow the solvent will evaporate away and just leave the acrylic so there is nothing bad to leave in the tank.

Yeah the stuff I'm looking at is a solvent that I've used on top of an acrylic tank before (to prevent a crack from futhering itself), but I wasn't sure about the inside. Sounds like that will be just fine.

Thanx!
