Q's in the title? Mine keeps getting a little thin/whitish along the raised skeletal areas... I'm thinking they are lower light specimens?

Yes. Like anything else they have varying capabilities, different light will get yo different looks.

I have some that do good in high light and some that have to have lower light. It's a crap shoot

Low-Medium light here to low flow, i find i get more intense colors that way...

Thanks everyone ;) Mine's the more typical brownish/purple body with the green mouths... seems to be responding better to an almost shaded area :confused: I'll just experiment a little with it.
