I picked up this frag from a reefer breaking down his tank. It was not looking very healthy and I had no idea what it was. I posted the following pic in the SPS forum with no luck. I thought it was a Monti because of the shape it is growing, but the ridges are too deep. Then someone told me it might be LPS.

I am starting to believe that now. There are no polyps. The skin seems to be starting to ballon up and look puffy, especially at night. There is an irridescent green color starting to show up between the ridges. Here is the original pic:

Any help? I would like to know what it is!!

maybe a encrusting or plating hydnophora?i have a green one that looks just like it.
