I picked this little guy up today I no it's not an echinata or sub-echinata, as you can tell by the large polyp echinata next to the micro. The polyps are quite small even smaller than the micros...any Idea?

Could be...the only thing is the coralites & polyps are flat like a pillow. The color morph is similar to the one on R.M. but it not jagged like the ones on here.

Thanks, the Micro came from a friend. I find it hard to believe with all the acan people out there that no one has a clue. ????????

My guess would be A. echinata or subechinata, but that is only a guess. The structure seems similar to what I'm used to seeing, but it is much smoother, if that makes and sense...

gflat65 I do know what you mean thats why i'm posting this (LOL). I have a few echinatas & sub echinatas & this guy placed side by side looks like neither. The polyps are smooth & puffy & the coralite structure is not jagged like an echinata. I don't know with so many sub-species comming in now days who knows. I will say this, the polyps are very small & close together unlike my other echinatas.
