Question about coralline algae ?

Hello everyone.
I have a used 55 gallon tank and the sides are covered in dry coralline algae. I was wondering if this might seed the base rock that I'm going to be putting in?Or should I just clean it out before I even fill it with water?

Dried coralline algae is dead, I think, so I'd just clean the tank.

I would clean it all out. Its dead.

Do you think it would help start the cycle if I filled it with water?
