im putting together my tank and decided to tee off my drain line to my calcium reactor. of course i got it all done before i realized that air is going to get into my system. will this retard the co2 or the breakdown of arag into calcium??? i remember hearing about how air is a no no for kalkwasser mixers so i thought the same should apply here. help me out guys. -amnesiac

Without AIR the kalwasser mix would never be able to leave its container.... ;)

No air won't effect anything...

Depending on the design of your ca rx, I would be concerned about a buildup of air. In my Korallin reactor, a pocket of air would interfer with the operation of the top mounted pump. If I let the air bleed out of the system, then the CO2 would also be released. I would also think the air would alter the pH of the effluent by mixing with the CO2 in effect diluting it. I would say that it is not a good idea IMO. HTH
