cateyes recently acquired my old 120 gallon tank. She previously had a 75 gallon mixed reef.

She now has this...

looks great!

do you guys have a local place where you can get the black PVC? I was going to order some for my new tank, but if it's readily available, I'll just wait until I get down there to pick it up.

Have you tried Plastico here in town for black PVC? They've had stuff I've needed when Gate City, Home Depot, Steward's and All-Rite didn't.

The tank was made by Precision Clarity. Many people have had bad experiences with this company, but my experience was nothing but good. I was extremely satisifed with the quality. I think Lisa is happy with it now that it is hers.

thanks a lot everyone for all of the NICE comments!!!

needless to say, the upgrade is a tremendous improvement over the 75gal. wall of rock i had... but that tank helped me learn alot with my first endeavor into saltwater......

my original plan was for it to be a montipora tank with ricordea along the bottom of the rockwork... but as you can see there are various and asundry other corals in there... all came out of my 75 and i plan to weed them out a little....

i think i'll aim for a mostly montipora/ricordae tank with a few select LPS corals..... there are just tooooo many pretty things out there!!!! :)

i'm glad someone answered the coral question because outside of being some type of montipora, i had no clue... :)

as far as lighting goes... it's under 2-250watt XM 20k bulbs.. i have 14k on my 29gal. but i'm going to be changing it out to a 20k also... i think the colors are just sooo much better...

I've taken to scattering them across the ground in order to perplex future archaeological endeavors.

It will be a short episode, the words " David the tort killer" will be written all around the crime scene :mad2:

Larson, I hope the acro nudibranchs on the tort are happier in your tank than they were in mine:D

and the valonia
and the aiptasia
and the mojanos
and the bryopsis
and the monti nudibranchs.

Now that I think about it, I'm glad he gave it away!

I didn't give it away. I put it outside for some fresh air and sunshine. It kept falling over so I buried it. It's not my fault someone took it.

cateyes

thanks Ben and Tim,,, i'm trying to make it worthy...

trust me, i've been well instructed in how to clean the acrylic... :)

i'm using and acrylic magnet and trying to stay out of the sand, also Novus plastic cleaner and polishing cloths on the outside... so far i don't think i've scratched it... (fingers crossed) :)
