For Powercompacts:
If you are going to DIY, you need to obtain a ballast preferably an electronic ballast from HD that will light up a 13 W bulb or very close to that. Get some endcaps, some thermostat wires, a three prong plug and some wire caps.

Similar to this wiring:

Saying this, it will probably cost you about the same as just buying one from an online store.

Check http://www.hellolights.com/13watbalkit.html
Furthermore, you get a $10 coupon with purchase over $50.

E-Coupon Code: ZRC0502 Good For $10.00 off of purchases of $100.00 or more.

Expiration Date: May 31, 2002

Also, you should look for instant start ballasts, many pc bulbs will not start without one. Some of the bi-pin lamps like 5, 7, 9, 13 w have a start cap built in to the socket end, but not all, so "dry fit" your parts to check and if they don't work you can return them without doing any damage. BTW, in another post here in DIY 13w 6700K bulbs were found at Walmart for less than Hellolights. HTH, Bill.
