View Full Version : Which brand MH to use?

Hi all,

I've looked at the FAQs on MH and very extensively on Sanjay's website but cannot interpret the data. So If someone don't mind, can u pls tell me what brand I should buy for a 150W MH double ended HQI? I heard XM and Phoenix are good. Thanks.

both are good.
XM 10K has alot of PAR
14K is more blue

What is PAR stands for? Is that good or bad?

PAR => Photosynthetically Available Radiation

what about phoneix and ushio? Do they have alot of PAR?

par is good but it really depends on what you want your tank to look like...

i use uhio 14k but i suppliment because i like that look.. what are youlooking for? what do you want your tank to look like?

I will also be running actinics so I was thinking more in the 10K range.

If you have actinics, look into the Hamilton 14k.

is there a reason why hamilton 14k? Wouldn't this make my tank too blue?
