Polyps (stupid question)

Do polyps need to be fed, if yes then what do they eat?

What type of polyps are they? If they are the standard 'yellow polyps' (parazoanthids) then you don't need to feed them anything.

i dont feed my button, moon, gold crested, and green star polyps, and they are all growing and spreading...so i'd say they're just a photosynthetic type of coral.

zoo's will catch food if it floats near them. but they do not need to be target fed. They will grow with light and calcium.

ya thats what i've heard is that the polyps CAN catch food, but if they dont have to they prolly wont.
