those are great for little kid's deviled eggs.
Omlettes when you aren't that hungry...

I sure hope that is what she is doing, I have 30 of them, think they are all a big tease?
As for the price, have you ever eaten farm fresh eggs?
Yummy.
Store bought eggs are awfull and the way those hens are treated is misserable. Mine run free to chase bugs during the day and at night are locked up for there protection.
So I am happy to pay for there services, be it dime size at the moment.
By the way, the reason this egg is small is they are only 5 months old. I bought them as day olds and they are just now starting to lay.
Hope they start thinking big or it will be the pot for them.

any practical jokers in the family? I heard of a farmer's wife putting quail eggs under a hen that has always produced, just to mess with his mind.

hmmmm...appetizer? Preview? Or maybe it's like those mini tents you see in the store so you know what the real thing looks like! "If you like this , real life versions may be ordered...." :D

LOL, the 40 bucks is what I spent on grower food for them. Here they are day old.
Hard to believe they have grown up to be fat crowing chickens. And by the way, I have to many roosters. I need to start a pot but am afraid to cook;)

I know which ones you are reffering to, can't think of the name of them either.
But they are cute to.
I also have the fuzzy foot ones and I love them, no toes, just feathers for feet.
I had to catch up a rooster fuzzybutt the other day to trim his nails, they were long and curled under, I was seeing he was having trouble getting around so lifted him up to take a look.
Holy cow the fighting spur he had was almost as big as he was, took a pliers to break it off. Now he runs and dances like a rooster should

ICam , everyone should have there own chickens for the eggs and meet, they take very little care, just protection from the weather and enough land to turn them out to eat bugs and greens.
They are fun to have around and the manure is great for the gardens.
And nothing from the kitchen is thrown out, if the dogs won't eat it the chickens will.

I agree. I had many different kinds. They're like any other collectable; there are so many types, you just want to collect as many as you can.

Ummm
bantam's dont typicly lay large eggs or large numbers of eggs. The arent a food grade or egg producing machine. They are a "show" chicken. meaning people keep them because they are very regal and pretty looking.

I grew up on a farm , we had a few for decoration because they were very pretty and small and cute, but they arent the "biggest" egg layers.
They are dwarfs ya know ;)
They typicly wiegh from 1-3 pounds ( but reaching 6 pounds or so isnt uncomom) so a normal sized egg is pretty much out of the question in this case.
bigger than dime sized mind you LOL!!!
But smaller than say...... A barred plymouth rock hen.
I would say a little bigger than a golf ball and your doing great.
