I have a 46 bowfront that has about 50 lbs of LR in it and it is covered with hair algae. I just added a lawnmower blenny as my first fish. Should I get more creatures to attack this hair or should I let the lawnmower do his job alone?
I am afraid that I might get too many creatures to eat the hair and when the hair is gone the creatures will starve.
Any suggestions???

If the Lawnmower Blenny even looks at the hair algae you'll be lucky... Very few actually eat hair algae, mine prefers micro algae...

I'm not exactly sure what kind of algae I have. Whatever algae it is my lawnmower is loving. He is eating the heck out of it. He looks like he swallowed a golf ball he is so fat.

Mine will eat nori from the grocery - about $3.00 for 5 big sheets.

Try an urchin (Tripneustes Gratilla) , a good one will eat it all including any coraline. If you can get that Sp in US.
I have 2 and hair is not a problem most of the time.

I also have a lawnmower in a 46 gallon bowfront. I am still trying to get it to eat prepared foods :(
I hope he eats soon cuz there is begining to be a shortage of algae in the tank.
He really devoured the hair algae.
I would recomend that you get 4 nassarious snails or 4 trochus.
Good luck
