I'm not that familiar with T5s, but I use a single 250 w 10000 mh in a 52 wedge, and find it rather strong for mushrooms and bubble, not that they won't grow like bandits, but that you don't get the best color. So I'd be thinking the second one, but don't quote me.

One comment: softies and lps are a more difficult mix than lps and sps. The stonies can hang together without chemical conflicts; ditto the softies of whatever ilk can hang with each other---with minor conflicts, while the only softie that's really ok with sps is mushrooms.

I hear the general rule of thumb is to have 5-8 watts per gallon for that type of application - so that light should fit the bill.

I would request 5-actinic and 3- 10k bulbs to really make the good looking color come out of those type of coral

if i got the 8x80 bulb i would probably get 4 of each. or maybe 5 10k and 3 actinic. also, the only softies i'd be getting are shrooms and a yellow fiji leather coral. i don't know if zoanthids( did i spell it right?) are considered softies, but i'll have a few of them as well.
