Funny Sushi story for Reefers

I was at a local Sushi joint last weekend and I saw that their specials were fresh Live Ami-Ebi (sweet shrimp) and live oysters.

Wel, being the fan I am, I ordered one of each. Well, believe me, these were FRESH.... How fresh you may ask?

So fresh that when I got the plate, there was an Amphipod flopping around on it!!

So what was I to do? Order a 2nd round of course!! :D :eek1:
That was a GOOD oyster.

Of course I busted out laughing, and no one at teh table knew why.
Plus I didn't want to tell them aboutt the sea-bug on my plate b/c they wouldn't understand.

Any one else have any funny experiences where reef stuff came up in "normal" ;) life?

No, I did not eat the pod. Only the oyster.
It was darn good too!!

I don't know if you are familiar with Ami Ebi, but what they do is fry up the head in the deepfrier.
When it got to the table, there are the eyes looking back at you.
My wife got all grossed out and told me to "get rid of the eyes!!"
Being teh good husband I am, I had to comply. So what did I do? I sucked them out of course!! She was not happy.
