Ok, don't roast me here. I'm looking for links to good forums for freshwater planted tanks. So far, I've found aquaticplantcentral.com - but it seems reeeeaaallly slow compared to what I'm used to here.

Anyone have other suggestions?

What do you want to know?
We've got some people who have some awesome freshwater setups in URS. :)

I want to know everything. Literally. :D

I've got an empty glass box and images in my head. I need to know how to get the glass box to look like what's in my head. It's been 10 or 12 years since I had a FW tank so I have next to no idea.

ah, so ya know...
freshwater planted displays are fantastic... There's great books by this dude.. armando... aramando, something like that that has a supreme talent for aquascaping.
Anyway, bigkev76, gary greguire are two that I know off hand...

Aqua Design Amano General Headquarters (http://www.aquahobby.com/tanks/e_tank0412a.php)

;)

Amano is a photographer first, and an aquariust second. if you know anything about zen and bonsai gardening, its almost the same principles.

i find it interesting how all of his tanks are on rollers, so he can roll them into the photography room.

i did an amano style tank for about a year, it requires DAILY supervision and trimming to keep the plants at exact height etc.

the hardest was trimming the glossostigma (the plant that grows across the ground), the riccia (that very bright plant grown on rocks/logs), and java fern. keeping all of those tiny floating plants in check is really annoying. if they float off their mesh they will clog up the pumps like crazy.

planted tanks like this are a major headache to maintain without algae outcompeting the plants, reef tanks are sooooooooooooo much easier.
