;) oh honey, don't worry bout' it ;) ... I average atleast a thread a week getting closed, but not posting them/it so that it/they intentionally gets closed ;) ... I just tend to read and find things of interest and like to share them is all...

Good place to have a presserve in Hawaii. Home of some of the best reef species. I love the idea. dont care whose idea it is if it promotes saving and enviroment. Hope they do something about the Gulf of Mexico soon. Looking like a garbage dump.

Just makes the surrounding areas that much more desirable to dive. the fish from the Pcific will be stellar. I cant see how any of this will be a bad thing. But then again all bets are off when a natural resource is found anywhere.

what bothers me is that it's scheduled to take effect in 5 years. I believe it was in place eight years ago, then put on hold and now is scheduled back in place... that feels like a bit of a shell game to me.

I personally hope that all of whatever is left will be preserved so that when I'm old and grey and finally able to afford a "real" vacation and dive and such, well all of the wonders of the ocean will still be there for me and hubby to enjoy :D ... Ohhh, and yes if you're wondering, hopefully our kids will be paying for this oh sooo wonderful vacation of a lifetime... :lol: ...

I don't see this having much effect on the price of hawaiian fish. Most of the collecting is done around the main hawaiian islands, and these areas are somewhat remote unless you plan on taking a week long trip in a boat to collect fish.
