Hip check someone today that ticks you off in the office? :) Try to set off the metal detectors at the jail? Nice long ride on Tuffy? Or hey-big ole' bottle of Jack Daniels and a nice sunset to toast. One drink for every week of the six years you've had the thing!! :D

I was gonna say do a little dance, but perhaps you should wait until *after* following Emily's suggestion. Could be more entertaining that way.

Sounds like you're on the right track with it.

in a 12 year span my grandpa had "10" different surgeries involved with his hip getting done.

oh honey, i'll be celebrating my second new hip anniversary on november 14.

hip checks...i've done a few of those. problem is, i'm bionic so now i "check" people into the middle of next week. ;)

i always DO set off the metal detectors at the jail. i can't imagine why, after 18 months of weekly visits, they won't take my word for it. for some reason, the deputies still wanna wand me. i don't get it. :D

fat-tony, when i had these spare parts installed, i told my doctor this was IT. no more surgeries. he told me he hoped they would last me a lifetime. so far, so good.

hmmm, a hula hoop. can you still find those things??

Congrats, Nina!!!:)

I had 3 surgeries on my hip in a yr. and a 1/2 span. I still walk with a cane :) My new hip's anniversary will not be till Feb. 8, 2007. I will have had it 10yrs. My Doc said when he put it in it will only last maybe 10 yrs. Oh, JOY!!!! I get to do it all over again next winter:(

i keep my cane hangin' on the door knob but i haven't used it in a very long time. yikes, only 10 years? seriously, my doc told me 20. i'm hoping for at least that. since you've had this done, you can probably appreciate this...my first surgery was a bit complicated. when the stem went in, it went in crooked. had they left it, i woulda been seriously pidgeon-toed. those things are not made to come back out and after tugging and pulling for 45 minutes, they ended up splitting my femur, spreading it apart, repositioning the stem and callin' it swell. took me several months to recover from that one. typically, this surgery is 2 hours long. that one was 6 hours. my second one was, thankfully, text book. :)
