WILLIAMSBURG, Ohio -- Why did the teens go to prom in duct tape?
Money, of course.
Sarah Bourne said her boyfriend, Brett Bastin, talked her into taking part in a nationwide contest on DuckTapeClub.com, reported WLWT-TV in Cincinnati.
Their outfits cost only $70 and could land the pair some college-scholarship cash.
"I thought this would be a fun way to get it -- if we win," Bastin said.
The couple entered the Most Likely To Stop Traffic category; their threads were neon-colored, and they paid special attention to details, such as a wrist corsage.
Bourne said they stole the spotlight at the Williamsburg senior prom.
"We came out and everyone was like, 'Oh my God,'" Bourne said. "We had pictures taken all night long."
