Importing favorites from folder to toolbar

Ok, I have everything back into the computer except the favorites.(web sites)
I have them stored in an external hard drive.
I have tried the import button but it will not let me go to the external drive to import them back.
I tried copying them and pasting them back but that won't work either, any help appreciated.

Just copy the favorites.htm file to the desktop and then import.

have you tried making a burn on cd or a floppy disk and then copy from (either) disc to the main hard drive?
