how do i get rid of sponges?

i have alot of those white cactus-like sponges in the shaded areas of my tank (under liverock)..
how do i get rid of them?
they seem to be multiplying like crazy, and they r hard to get to, so i cant siphon them..

why do you want to get rid of them? they process a lot of fish waste.. kind of the point of live rock no?

they look like small little cactus'.. they let go and float around sometimes.. and multiply wherever they land.. they look unsightly, and sometimes they stick onto my corals..

I've got a bunch of them too but think there pretty cool. I'd think if you can get a syphon in there, you can get a long pair of grabbers or something to pull them out if you don't want them.
