View Full Version : Need help finding wires for PFO ballast

Hello, I just bought a 250 watt pfo hqi ballast and I need to get the wiring for a mogul socket. Does anyone know where I can get the wires from? I need the wires to be 10' in length so Im gonna need to find a place that makes custom sizes. If anyone knows where I can find the stuff please let me know. Thanks

Aren't wires, wires? Can't you just get some appropriate guage of wire from home depot or some place like that?

Just use a heavy duty extension cord.

i was able to find good solid copper, not stranded, wire for ballasts at Fry's electronics.

To be sure that you are getting the right wire, call Carla at PFO. You don't want to chance the meltdown of an HQI, hotter, and more amps, if you need to get wire from her, and have any proplems, let me know.

Im not actually concerned about the wires..just the connectors...I would normally get the wires from HD..they just dont sell the connectors...

I read my original post and I don't think I made it clear as to what Im looking for...sorry, my fault...I need the 3 pin connector that goes from the ballast to the mogul socket..its a smaller 3 pin style connection...

I think Marine Depot sells mogul sockets with PFO quick disconnects.

hqi and single ended bulbs are not compatible unless i am way off. the ballast fire differently.

Some german bulbs like the Radium and Ushio will work on HQI ballasts. The Radiums need either HQI or electronic to work properly.
