why is my larger tank not as clear as my smaller tank

i have a 240 and a 55

240 is always kind of dingy looking where as the 55 is always clear


do I need to buy a uv sterilizer or something for the larger tank as I have almost 400 watts of compact flourescednt light on it

Try running carbon on the 240.

Also how is the water quality on the 240g and what kind of filtration do you use?

i have a milenium 3000 filter , mainly for running carbon in

sedra 900 and 500 for water movement , sand , rock, and a coralife super skimmer, w hich works great


im thinking its the light , because in the mornings after my lights are off the water is clear and after the lights have been on for awhile, look out

maybe you are experiencing a phyto or bacterial bloom that is dependant on the lights.

if you are, it will pass
