So I'm moving and gave a friend my old 10 gallon, with live rock, water from my tank, powerhead, filter, lights sand from my tank and plan to give him a pair of ocellaris clowns and hermits, snail, etc to start out with. I'm giving him a bag of IO salt for water changes and told him distilled water is fine for top off.

He is pretty familiar with my tanks, he actually takes care of them when I'm out of town for me and has learned a lot. Of course I'm going to send him here to RC for more learning. I gave him the Sera Marin food the clowns like, and will give him all my frozen food as well once we are almost done packing. He has a pretty good base setup for a little nano, and has asked enough to know he can't add 10 more fish to the little 10 gallon.

Can anyone think of more good advice to give a newbie?

start with a refractometer instead of the swing arm type. :)

Tell him to run while he still has money.
