hi i have a 55 gallon saltwater fish tank..i wanna make the switch to the 75 gallon. but i dont know how to go about it. i wanna do a 1 day switch ..do i have to use all my water or like 45 gallons of it and make new water for the remaining 30 gallons? will that work. Also i will use a bit of my old sand like a couple of scoops or more? to seed the new sand in my new 75g. Will that be ok? for me to put my fishes into my new aquriaum..or do i have to wait a little before putting my fishes in.
DAy 1:
i was thinking of preparing my 75gallon before hand and set it up where i want it . wash my new sand put it inside my 75 .Then make like 30g of new saltwater and take like 15 gallons of old saltwater in my old tank and take some of my old sand and put it on top of the new sand bed, and take one of my filters from my 55g and make it run on my 75 and keep it runing overnight with that setup.
And i would make new saltwater to replace the 15 gallons that i used and put it in my 55g
So my 75 gallon would have 45g of water
And my 55 would still have 55
DAy 2
Then the next day take out half my water like 25g from my 55 g put it in my 75 ..So now i would have like 45g from day 1 + 25g from day 2... So now my new 75g should be almost full.
Then i was thinking of taking out all my fishes from my 55 and transfering them in my 75. since my 55 will be half full so i can move the 55 next to the 75 and just switch them??
Will that be enough thanks?
