Hey everyone,

Just got a trio of labouti wrasse in on thursday, so I took some pics. Tank's been up about 5 months now, seems to be progressing nicely...

Here's a shot from when it was a few weeks old...

It's 4X160w VHO. 2 icecap 660s. 1 actinic blue, 2 50/50s, and a trichromatic.

Thanks everyone. I'm so gald the algae phase has passed!

<knocks on wood!>

Look at how brown the middle full tank pic looks, especially the PVC overflow on the left! I did not clean it. Or the back wall.

Well, the tank is now almost 11 months up and running, and doing pretty well. There have been a few changes, most notably a switch from 2-part to kalk as well as the addition of a closed-loop. As you can see, the coralline has really taken over...

The tanks looking good. I love Laboutei wrasses, I've tried 2. The first one jumped and my harlequin tusk killed the second one

Thanks. I haven't had the greatest luck either. I purchased a trio (1 male, 2 females). One female died within a few days, presumably from shipping stress, and the other developed a strange growth on her head and disappeared after about a month. The male is going strong though. He's a PITA when trying to target feed corals though. He seems to have "learned" that they are his personal feeding stations. :D

You have some awesome growth after 6 months, especially that xenia. Wow.

Yeah, xenia is a joy for beginning reefers, and the scourge of the advanced aquarist. It grows fast and looks great, but before you know it, it's spreading all over your reef. It's even growing on a couple of my snails! :(
