OK, I'm not the grammar police but....

If you are comparing two things, use the word than .

If you are giving a sequence of events, use the word then .

I can overlook spelling mistakes and even grammar, but i hope people know the difference between these two words.:mixed:

I think any male over the age of 30 who is fluent in the IM abbreviations is probably going to wind up on next week's Dateline NBC.

Hey now, what you trying to say?

I use abbreviations when I chat with friends on yahoo, because then it's about typing as fast as possible. I type around 100 wpd, but I hate to waste time typing during an online conversation. I avoid them on message boards, but I still make my fair share of mistakes....usually the result of sloppy typing and sleep deprivation.

The teacher in me cringes when I see the errors mentioned above, but at the same time, it's just an internet message board, not my dissertation.

Personally I don't care how a person spells in the lounge, or how they write things. Maybe it was a mistake, maybe they don't know the proper use of the word, maybe there just here to have fun and don't really care.

When I write at work I pay a lot of attention to exactly what I write and the usage of the words, when I'm playing around on RC I could care less if I use something improperly or even misspell a word, I'm not here impress anyone, I'm just having some fun.

Note: I apologize in advance for using a comma once when I should have used a semicolon, just incase the Punctuation Patrol is reading this.
