I'm excited:) My new tank will be set up tomorrow at noon! It's a 58 gallon with an Eco System (Miracle Mud) sump. I have a Remora skimmer if I need one down the road, but not sure of how to use carbon with this system. I understand that the water will sometimes look yellow without carbon once in a while. What is the best way to use it? Chemi pure in the sump, or an external filter? If external, which one? Thanks for the help......

I just put a bag of it in my sump right under where my overflow lines discharge into my sump. I find this forces water through the carbon without having to use a canister filter. HTH

I currently have one in my sump pressed up again't the pump intake. I am currenlty builting a little box to put the carbon in under the water outlet.... :)

That's a good idea, Rock.....I'll see where the best place to put carbon is after the LFS guy gets me up and running. He may have some ideas too:)

A sump is a lot easier to manage than a canister,I woould put it in the sump in good water flow.:)

That's three votes for the sump! Thanks to all who replied.
