It's a 1999 Ducati ST2 in immaculate condition. It was loaded onto the moving truck yesterday in Prescott, Arizona. It should be here in 7-10 days.

Do you get the one in front of it too? I think it should be a twofer deal since you have to wait 7-10 days for it to show up. :)

The mileage upon loading is recorded on the invoice and witnessed by the seller. It is then recorded on delivery to me. It had better be the same!

I already have a touring bike (Harley FLHTCUI) so I don't need the cruiser in the front of the truck.

Now I'll have a bike for driving to church and work.

SOOO, how far do you think you can ride on that thing and STILL be comfortable? :D I hear you have to drive fast enough for the air blast to push your body weight up off your hands and wrists. When you hit that fine balance point, (about 145 mph) you can drive, oh, say 20 or 30 miles before your hands are numb.

There are handlebar risers for the bike, and many people on the Ducati forums report 500-1000 mile days on the bike with no discomfort. We'll see.....

Very Slim. These guys probably do that for a living and taking a customers ride for a spin would most likely result in a loss of a great job. Imagine this. You get to drive across country with a van full of custom or exotic bikes, a trailer with a Porsche T. You get to load, sit, and handle some exotic stuff in that line of work.

When I moved to Colorado from NC I had my acura on a flat bed behind me. For about 500 miles I cruised with two of these guys with a football players $130,000 Porsche, they showed me the back of the truck and it had some amazing bikes in it the four could have = 7 digit price tags. Rolling exotic show :) It was nice though b/c my trailer dragged a cable and lost power to the lights. Not good with a 24ft uhaul and a blacked out flat bed trailer hauling a $50k Honda. They followed me until we could get it fixed. The guys I met were nice. I'm sure there are all types but I would bet with that much money the honest ones are the ones not behind bars.

Let me restate my post: Putting saddlebags on a Duc would be like seeing a supermodel walking down the street in a designer dress with a neon green fanny pack! The saddlebags allow me to carry my new "Grey's Anatomy" Emergency Surgery Kit wherever I ride.

Interestingly, with the saddlebags, my yearly insurance cost is about $300. Without the bags, the insurance on the bike would run about $1500. It seems the word "touring" in the sport-touring designation saves me a lot of money.

How did you get that scratch on the gas tank? It's just reflected light. The paint and tins are almost perfect. Just a few tiny rock pits on the front.

It's beautiful, did you pay one of those lemon checker services or go through a broker?

The only other reasonably priced bikes I would consider besides the HD are a Ducati and a BMW. Of course its been so long since I sat on either one my body probably no longer bends in the right places to ride one.

Fred, I purchased the bike on eBay from a guy in Arizona. Though it's seven years old, it looks like it's only a year or two.

The Ducati has a deep V-twin rumble which I love, and it's the only bike other than a Harley that I really wanted. (I don't seem to like the people who ride BMWs.) I can't ride long distances yet, as the riding position takes some getting used to for a guy like me who's been sitting on a geezer glide for years. I'm installing some bar risers which will sit me up a little more, but it still has a forward riding position.

So what are the odds of the movers takin' it for a spin somewhere along the way?

Last year when we moved from virginia to florida we used allied. They left alot of stuff. They broke stuff, and they packed bread from our pantry. They were supposed to unpack our stuff from the boxes but they sid they didnt schedule it and we had to do it ourselves. They put alot in storage(including the bread) without telling us.

So we will never use allied again.

Nice ride.... I picked up 4 people this year who didn't make it through a bike crash, gotta love no helmet laws...

Doc when you get out on the open road you need to lay down on that and place your feet on the passenger pegs...
