Nova Extreme T-5 Fixtures w/Lunar Lights (48" - 216 watts) would this be enough for a 55g tank and have lps and soft corals in there too?

Yes that's plenty for a 55 gallon, I have the same fixture with the 8 bulbs for my 120.

My 12 year old son has the same fixture on his 55g. It has worked really well.

The fan is a little loud and IMO the moonlights are too bright, but he keeps a wide variety of softies/LPS and a few sps at the top

The glass tops will cut out about 20% of the light. You are better off running open top if possible. If you are concerned about fish jumping you can get egg crate from the Home Despot, it the white plastic grid they use over commercial fluorescent fixtures. It wont block as much light and still allows good gas exchange.
