staining question

I stained a diy stand and canopy today for a tank and the color it came out looking like was a heck of a lot lighter than what I was anticipating. My question is can I use a darker stain color on top of the coat that is already on there. It is a minwax oil based stain and does not have any poly on it yet, just strictly stain. Thanks.

You can use another coat of the same stain and get a darker color.
If you use a different stain, be sure and use the same type and brand that you used the first time.

Yep just keep putting on more coats until its the shade you want. It should have restaining directions on the can.
