looking for a short run of 2" and 1.5" pvc to use for a sequence dart pump on a 100g holding tank for liverock curing.
anyone have some laying around?
i do, but considering it only costs $2 for a 5' piece i think you might be better off driving to your local DIY store than to C/U :p
Ben - I have plenty spare also, but echo Henry's thoughts. If you come over to Rantoul to race anytime soon and still need some, let me know.

good call.
i was hoping someone in bloom would have some. if not it's probably not worth the trip.
i gave up my race car a while back. driving a family sedan now. :( but hey, at least it keeps me out of trouble. :)
what home improvement store has these pieces for $2? i thought it was much more than that. ?
10' of 2" at lowes is $5.88 and 1.5" at 10' is $4.18 according to their website

scca solo II autocross...
put on by the champaign county sports car club and also sometimes by the heart of illinois sports car club.

ohhh...seen them do that other places too. A dragstrip was thought about on the old USAF base runways but it got turned down.

try to get the schedule 20 pipe. it has a slightly larger ID than regular schedule 40 pipe. probably won't make a huge difference, but every little bit helps.
actually i gotta disagree doug. in theory you are correct, i think, which is why i tried that years ago. my experience was enough to not do that again.
PVC when we buy it is very fresh and continues to age and harden. after a year or two the pvc is very hard and brittle. cutting it becomes difficult because it shatters instead of cuts.
i guess if you can stay away from it with no accidental bumps or don't have the need to change it, it would be no problem. but i had a snail shell get lodged in a 90' one time. i felt my only and easiest answer was to cut the 90' out and splice in a new one. a quick, $3 fix. well, the thin wall shattered continuously and my quick fix become a major undertaking of replumbing a fully functioning reef from the ground up. not fun.
anyway, just a different perspective involving murphy and his stupid laws...

I have run into a similar problem personally with some schedule 20 pipe. the pipe i was using was not in use at the time though so it was not catastrophic.
