Looks like PVC shavings stuck to fish mucus from a freshly cut pipe to me! If not, that is some nasty parasite!

What was the name of the MO place you got it from?

FWIW, If you're gonna quaranteen, it's supposed to be for a month or something like that, so you don't introduce what ever nasty a fish may be carrying into your main tank.

came in looking healthy then rapid decline..

I was planning on about 2-3 week quarentine but he didnt last long enough. the pvc was semi new but rinsed well and clean. the quarentine tank tests fine and the gobie is doing well.

had just the pvc and some plastic aquarium rocks in the tank
added some live sand to hope make him feel better and didnt help.... sucks.... even in the plastic bag before going into freezer look great other than spots..
do you think copper hypersalinity(low spg) or maracine or maroxy would have helped?
