this started out as a little nub of cream colored snot and now its growing tenticals. does anybody know what this is ?

Not sure I just found the same thing growing on another rock. They were rocks from the lower part of the tank.

Looks like a sponge to me. I have some that gets those long thin strands that looks like tentacles.

I have the same thing that was on some of my rock when I got it, It looks like a sponge to me. It doesnt grow fast or at any noticable rate in my tank.

I thought it was a sponge, but to be honest, I didn't realize they had Tentacles.

i think they commonly call them pinapple sponges

or on second glance it might be a totally different sponge. i cant think of the name for the life of me but basically what the "tentacles" are doing is spreading the sponge to other areas. they will grow until it reaches a new surface and anchor down there. then it repeats its self over and over. i have a really cool bright purple one that i constantly have to rip off my rocks. but it looks cool if you have the room for it

it could be a tunicate. if it starts to look like its melting, or turns into a dripping goo appearance .. I had one in my tank, it was fugly when it got big
