Official May 20th Frag Meet Trading Thread

This is the Official Trading Thread for the May 20th URS meeting at Aqua Tech in Cheektowaga NY.

With the meet only 2 weeks away, and the ReefNest swap behind us, I thought it was time to start this thread.

I will be the first to post but its not what you think. I am actually looking to get ZOO's. sell/swap i dont have much for swap but we can talk

I got us setup on FRAGSWAPPER.COM
For those of you that have never used this site, you are in for a treat. You can register for the URS meeting at Aqua Tech, and post corals, equipment, fish, or what ever you have to trade or sell, and others can easily search through it.

If you see a frag that you would like to get, all you have to do is point and click. The seller will get an email saying you have requested a frag. They will then be able to add you to the their list.
It makes it very easy for sellers that bring a lot of frags to the meet, since they can print out their trade page with all the corals they sold/traded, and it will have the names of everyone the corals go to.

So if you are planning on attending the Aqua Tech meet, register at fragswapper.com.

I won't be fraging much for this meet but I have some Kenyan Tree to get rid of. It's just growing too fast and dropping too many daughter colonies. The main colony is about the size of a hand, I guess I'll ask $10 for it. I also have some developed smaller colonies for $5. I have a bunch of small colonies that I'll either give for free or take $1 for. I don't want to bag corals for two hours for nothing :p.
I also have some green striped shrooms I'll ask $5 for.
I could probably get a few Xenia fags too, I'll ask $10 for those.

I'll take trades for just about anything I don't currently have for these as well or some power heads. You can never have enough power heads :)

I will be bringing quite a few sps from my 120 and frag system, I will get some updated pictures posted asap, but you can find plenty on my website to get ideas. I am interested in trading or selling. fresh cut frags are 15.00. Mounted frags are 20.00 to 25.00 because they are generally larger and established onto flat rocks.

Wow. Allot of acros will be at this meet. I know there has got to be some Roch and Syracuse people still into sps. Steve and Irwin have some really nice stuff.

Nice website Steve! I can tell you put allot of work into it!

I think we should go beyond the urs forum and post info about this thread, I know that NCPARS comes to mind first but there is a group in north Ohio, plus the guys in Canada. Buffalo could be a junction for all of these clubs to get together. What do you guys think?

I had thought about southern Ontario in the past, but does anyone know what the laws are regarding transferring corals across the border, both into the US and out of the US? That’s definitely not the way I want the URS to make the news :)

No coral to or from CA according to CITES regulations. I have heard that there are a few guys at the border that know that regulation well too. Still, I know Mitch and a couple other guys have traveled to Buff and Roch before.

I've got 2 color morphs of Efflo.
One is mainly light green with light purple tips.
The other is dark green with dark purple tips.

I'll post some pic's when I get home tonight.
I can get large frags off my colonies. They are huge!

I sell nice 2" frags of the larger, light colored efflo for 20.00
I will make frags of the dark purple tip efflo, but the frags will be smaller.

I made frags of the dark Efflo for the three people that requested them. So Mariner, Ktar, and Bosborn1, which one would you like?

The two larger frags on the left are 25.00 and the smaller frag on the right is 20.00. This was my first attempt, so if you want smaller frags, I can get them. These were just too good to break any smaller.

They grow very fast for me. I don't blast them with light like the rest of my Acros. I keep both colonies on the right and left corner's of my tank, and they are both off towards the back.

As far as requirements, if you can keep other Acros and Monti's you should be able to keep Efflos.

I have thought about where I want my tank to go a lot over the weekend. Stony corals are my first love, but I am going to save that for my next tank.

I've decided to take a turn more towards a softy tank until the fall when I redo my stand+canopy from scratch.

I think all my stonies will also be put up on fragswapper, with pictures uploaded tonight.
I know for a fact I want a rose bubble tip as well, to be on the safe side, I think I may have to give up Elvis the mandarin too.

The nice thing about fragswapper is that you can change the profile of the selling post. If you have a few of something, you can update it when some are gone. And since we will have some people from other clubs coming to this meet, they would not see this frag thread.
Plus, it keeps track of who is getting your stuff. You can print out the My Trades page before the meet.
