I am running a 30g cube/15g sump with about 700g turnover b/w my return and CL. My water column is full of specks floating around that I would like to eliminate. I am running a shallow sandbed of about 1/2 inch and a small fuge in the sump. From reading the boards I believe I have 3 options

1) Run ozone through my CSS65, cost ~$150.
Good - will raise my ORP.
Bad - may nuke my tank.

2) Place a 50-100 micron filter sock under the return in my sump ~$30.
Good - Cheap!
Bad - Higher maintenance, may not work as well as the other options.

3) Run a diatom filter for a few hours once or twice a week ~$150.
Good - May help reduce disease and algae.
Bad - kills lots of beneficial microscopic stuff, seems like it might be a PITA to haul out every week.

Am I missing anything? What do you use to keep your water clean?
