...like me! I got Wildblue (www.wildblue.com) satellite internet installed on friday. I had a cable modem for three years untill we built our house. I got used to an always on, fast internet connection.

Wildblue is a 512k satellite based connection for $49.99 a month. Its a ton faster than dial-up for those of us who dont have any other choice. So far so good!

Wildblue is a little cheaper per month and the upfront cost was $300 instead of the others $600.00

That is cool! hopefully it will come down more in price. At school all the Westford kids complain nonstop about dial up.

I've been using a verizon wireless card, you insert it in your computer (I have a laptop) and I can get a pretty fast signal anywhere one can connect on a cellphone. It is much faster than dial up. And when I'm travelling I can connect anywhere including home in west fletcher. It's fairly expensive , less so if you have a verizon cell account I think.

Someday all us country bumkins will have cheap and fast internet. Untill then we are at the mercy of the few who provide it.
