Hey folks,

I'm thinking of getting a pH monitor. So far the cheapest I have seen is a Milwaukee S107 at about 48 bucks. But I think that's without probe and without AC adapter. Probably need more items there too. The complete kit seems to be about 85 bucks.

Anyone use one of these, and can vouch for them?

Any other (cheaper) pH monitors out there that you can recommend?

Thanks!

I don't like my milwaukee portable meter.. doesn't read saltwater well. My aquamedic monitor/controller is excellent, but it's more money than what you are looking at as it has the control feature.

My pinpoint meter works excellent I got it used off of a post her on RC. Guy named Tracy out of sudbury Mass. I can find his email if you like as he had another probe available when i last checked.

He only wanted 45 for the the complete package. Heally nice guy as well.

I think somebody by the name, M Roby, beat you (and me) to it

FYI, FFExpress has both Pinpoint and Milwaukee meters at 10% off this month

Thanks to all for the responses.
I also posted over on reefs.org

Looks like Pin Point is the way to go. I'll get one of those. Good thing I asked first!

I don't have a pinpoint monitor for sale, but I do have a used probe that anyone can have for free. It needs a little cleaning and you'll probably have to calibrate it more frequently. It's about 1 1/2 years old. Stills works fine for me, but I just bought a new one.

Jim

I'll take that probe. My PH is going south and I'm wondering if its the probe. It would be good to have a second opinion

Question? Does all your tanks PH move around that much? I know a calc reactor will effect greatly, but with aragonite bed as a PH buffer, are people's PH low or high? I haven't tested in about a year and a half but never noticed a PH problem when I did. You all just got me thinking sorry if it is slightly off topic.
Thanks Chris

NHreefer,

My 55G pH was staying in the 8.1-8.4 range But I slip the other day and dosed in to much CA and now my pH is stuck at 7.75. Even after 10 hours of ligths. I have been dosing Alk and a water change and I'm back to 8.0
