View Full Version : Stupid kitty...Spare tank + FS
Well, the cat just cost us $700, so I need to sell this stuff. (ran in front of a dropping 6' 4"x4" and broke his leg in two places... Vet put cast on and Orange Kitty went psycho when the collar was on him and tore his cast off overnight. We had to amputate :()
I have a 125 w/ 2 2" bulkheads in back (one for CL and one for OF), an OM 4-way and a Sequence HH. All new and never had water. Also have bare stand.
$775
I even have a used AQUA UV I'll throw in for $40

Sorry to here about Orange kitty Andy :( My wife had a kitty when she was little that was missing a leg so we just called it gimp :)
Part that ticks me off the most is if he wouldn't have bit the cast off we would have saved ~$500...The amputation was above the knee so it was a little more pricey and involved.

Well I feel for ya on the vet bill. I just had a bill that was over $500 and now my dog is on the most expensive dog food in the world. $58.22 for a 30lb bag :eek2: That wont last much more then 2 weeks.

I would have done it for $50.00. It pays to shop around.

Are you a vet? The main expense with higher up on the leg is messing with the femoral artery. Then all the pain meds... Stupid cat!!! I need a dog lol.

Nope. I'm not a vet. That is why I would be cheap.

I used to think people that spent that much on a pet were nuts. After having a dog for 3 years, now I see why you would want to.

Yup people think we are crazy until they get a loving pet. I have spend BIG bucks over the last year on just one of my dogs. Unfortunately for me, all of my pets are getting up there in age and I think I'm going to have a ruff next couple years. 1 cat 16, 1 cat 10, 1 dog 12 and 1 dog 10. A vet told me 10 years ago that the cat thats 16 needed to be put down

Sounds like the wife's getting her tank huh Dwayne???
well... The head vet told us it would be $250 for the amputation below the knee... He even wrote it down in OK's chart... A normal person would think that is for the WHOLE procedure. What he did not tell us were all of the added extra meds etc... I am still pretty ticked about that one.

I can relate with the vet bills!! I have two dogs, a horse, a bird, and the "fish"...
My horse cost $700.00 when I bought him 12 years ago...
One bought of colic......$300.00 ( lasted for 6 days)
Severed nerve, left rear leg, $600.00, plus trip to OSU 6 months later for same injury $300.00
Laceration on right front leg...$200.00
Nevermind maintenance fees, worming, shots, hoof trimmings..etc..
But he is my "big black dog" and I would pay twice that again, just to have him!!:D

over $1500 for our kitty. he had FIP and died, but while trying to help him he spent some time in an o2 chamber, not to mention all the tests and lung drainage.

Try paying $4000 for a horse only to have it put down in a few months do to cut tendons in a rear leg from a slip and fall into the fence. That is the day my wife got a reef tank.
So, anyone interested in the tank????
