What effects if any are there if ther is aluminum or stainless steel in or around a Reef Aquarium?

it will eventualy oxidize and rust leaching metals and chemicals salt is very corrosive

You don't want metals leaching into your tank and saltwater will do that eventually; it's just a matter of time.
