Would you suggest using 2 150 watt DE bulbs or 2 175 Mogul bulbs for a 21" deep tank??

i would use the 175w MH for a tank that deep, keeping in mind tha lights are gonna need to be about 8 inches off the water giving you a penetration depth of 29 inches or so.

Out of curiousity, what size tank are we talking about?

75 gal. I have also been looking at the 250 watt DE bulbs.

IMO, you could either go with 2ea 175w or 2ea 250w MH bulbs over a 75. I guess it would depend on what you want to keep under them.
