My buddy has 2 Skunks and 5 peps in his tank and he has a 30. I have 2 skunks, 2 fires, 3 peps, and a pistol in my 55g. I dont know how youre fire shrimp would take to other shrimps though.

You could probably add some cleaners or peppermints to that size with no problems, as noted. I did. Some people do see some problems, though. There's seldom a 100% bet in stocking suggestions.

We have two cleaner shrimps and they've been fine but for some reason all of our peppermint shrimps have never survived longer than a month or so.

Is it best to have an assortment of shrimp just like the other cleaning crew such as snails and crabs?

Shrimp don't really function as part of the cleanup crew, IMO. They will eat leftover food, but there are lots of animals that do that. Peppermint shrimp often eat Aiptasia (and sometimes corals, IME), and cleaner shrimp get their name by removing parasites, etc, from fish, but neither function is all that critical, IMO.

I would recommend one shrimp per 100 gallons.

I have one shrimp in my 120 gallon tank.

Keep in mind shrimp can get big, mine seems to molt every week. And some shrimps can be fairly territorial.

I'd add a cleaner in your 30 and call it good IMO.
The relationship between them and fish is amazing to watch, as well as beneficial to fish.
Mine sometimes hitches a ride on fish while cleaning it, and sometimes enters the mouth of fish that could easily eat him.
My peps never ate aptasia, but they have eaten snails and picked at corals, so I'm not a big fan of them.
