I have used RC since day one because it was recommended by one of the LFS. I am looking for a general survey of what everyone else uses.

I use IO as we have been thorught this many times before I like the quality of IO and will stick with it. The price is fair and I have seen nothing to make me want to change .

usually no preferences. I have tried them all and for the most part, haven't noticed a big difference.

A servey like this was done a month or two back. I compiled the data, here are the results. http://www.kamworld.net/salt/URS_Water_Change_Chart.htm

This might help with some of the information you were looking for.

Randy Holmes-Farley, the resident RC chemist has been using IO for a very very long time. Good enough reason for me, plus I’ve had good results with it.

I at first used Red Sea which was real salt. But the supply has vanished, I used oceanic but it was a wee bit off, Now I use IO. Its cheap and readily available.

Thanks All,

This is what I was looking for. Seeing the different opinions and what their tanks look like. I think I may try IO when I run out and see if there is a difference.

I can honestly say that I wound up with IO since my first saltwater aquarium was an overpriced "Kit" that came with a bag and I've never really felt like it was worth changing ( This was a fowlr 2 tanks ago ). I've seen it measure up reasonably well in a few recent articles and well never really had the ambition to experiment.
