I currently have 3x 250w Iwasaki's. Would it be wise to add in 2x 400w 20,000k bulbs and ditch my VHO's? Wouldn't it help the growth of my SPS corals?

Of course it would help....but the real question is: can your tank handle the extra heat? do you have a chiller? 20k bulbs are awsome in color, you'll love them....

i have 4x 4" fans cooling my bulbs and my water temp is already at 80 degrees F

The fans are OK for now, but when the outside temperature rises, and the 400watter are on, you'll probably have a heat generator...

What size tank are they gonna be on? what aboyt the canopy?

Have you considered HQI DE fixtures?

they will be on a 180g 6x2x2 foot tank acompanying my iwasaki's. My family runs the air conditioning in our house all the time so i don't think there will be any worries about my house heating up
