I bought a HOG about 1 month ago. I like it alot, it helps my tank, but you have to find a way to make it so your pump isn't loud. Yesterday I figured ut how to do it and my bulb is supposed to becomni in soon, so it shall be great. I think you should do it. I willl post some pics on my site at around 8. www.reef-tanks.tk look at My 20

Take a look at my gallery, I use one for my 29 bow, it's the small Aquafuge with a Lee's countercurrent skimmer in the first compartment, I have a 100 watt stealth in the middle with about 1.5 inches of LS and 3 lbs of LR Rubble with some Chaeto.

The fuge works well, been running for about 3 years now and I have never (knock on wood) had a crash or breakout of any kind from water quality. I do all my dosing in the fuge as well, it adds an extra gallon or so of water to your tank volume. I have friends that use a 9watt mini pc to light the fuge but my tank light is wall mounted so the fuge gets plenty of light.

any other questions, just post, be glad to answer them.

good luck
