so we should run a current through out tank? hehe

no. you shouldn't run a current though your tank....that is unless you are placeing metal rods in it, and are trying to get them to calcify

That is very interesting. Thanks NY.

Bil2k-
That website is about mineral accretion. The principle behind mineral accretion is that a current passes between two metals usually one of Magnesium (anode) and Steel (cathode) that will result in the accretion of calcium carbonate onto the steel wire exponentially increasing the growth of “SPS corals. The fundamental problem with using this method is that when you pass any current through saltwater you get electrolysis and when that happens you breakdown the structure of saltwater into its basic elemental forms. The anode produces oxygen and sodium, while the cathode produces hydrogen and more alarming large amounts of chlorine gas. Chlorine gas is extremely toxic. A few liters of this stuff in a room will kill everything. Nasty death too. Mineral accretion can only be done out in the open like the ocean or in laboratory settings where all safety measures can be controlled. Not to mention that if you did try mineral accretion with out a constant supply of saltwater from the ocean you would probably need around 100 gallons of saltwater a day for a 10 gallon tank, just to keep the parameters in balance.

Has anyone donated to this cause? Seems like a pretty awesome non-profit organization...
