I have a 5.5 nano with a very light bioload (1 damsel) i am haveing a really hard time with hair algae and i want to add either a Fission nano skimmer with maxijet mod, or the aquaclear hob filter with the fuge mod. Which do you think would be best?
Thanks for your expertise!!!

depends...SPS tank, i'd add a skimmer but not the fission. LPS, zoas, softies, FOWLR, or FO tank i'd probably go with a fuge.

I would do it the other way around. i thought softies let out more "crap" into the water than sps so the skimmer would help. Thats just what I would do.

i read this in the marinedepot.com catalogue-

AquaC is coming out with a new "NANO Remora"

It sounds like a very cool skimmer, for 5 to 25 gallon tanks.

i owened a remora pro before and was very very dissapointed with its performance, which makes me leary about the nano remora. Ill just have to let someone else be the guinee pig on that one hahaha. i think im going to go with a fuge for now i already have what is necessary so it would save me some money and if that doesnt work i will try the skimmer. How does this sound good idea? and what light would you recommend?
thanks again

I have a satelite 2 bulb 96w fixture over my 10 and it works very well for me. I pretty much grow every kind of coral under them. I just have to put the SPS torwards the top.
