I just read about a totally internal pump/filter/skimer from Freedom Aquarium Products. Does anyone have any experience with them?

[welcome]

LOL dont waist your time with that crap. it doesnt work as a skimmer for flow or for carbon well. its like a sail boat with a motor it doesnt do either very well.

Thanks. Do you think it might work in a small tank/oversized filter combination?

I was thinking maybe a 20 gallon reef only. Something small. No vertabrates.

That would depend on the price of the pump/filter deal. The corals and live rock would come from my other tanks. It would mainly be an experiment to see how the filter worked. The totally internal aspect seems like it would really free up where a tank could go. As a guess I might go $100-$200 for the pump, everything else I already have.

why dont you get a coralife super skimmer 65 that would work way better than a freedom filter.

Does it sit in the tank or hang on the back? I didn't think about using just a protein skimmer for everything.

they do both it is a very good unit for the money. for your bio filter just use live rock. so it is a good system look into it.
