View Full Version : Brown Algae growing all over the tank...what do i do

Hey everyone,

Could use some advice, My 90 gallon reef tank has been growing brown algae all over the tank over the past 3 days, The tank is pretty new about 23 days in [with live rock] tested the water today:
ammonia- 0
nitrite-- 0
nitrate- 10
ph - 8.2
sal- 1.022
temp - 78.5

is the brown algae good?? sure looks ULGY! it also has little air bubbles on top of it??

Its normal. Do not worry, as long as you are using RO water, it will go away in a week or so.

I had it for the first month or so of setting up new tanks and it goes away after awhile. You may nodice it will get worse over the next week or so but then it will start to go away.

Thanks, I do use ro/di water for my tank. Glad to hear it cause this stuff is ulgy.

Excellent flow will help. See my sig. I have a 90 as well and never suffered with that. But I used cured rock which might have been the difference.
